Storm in a Teacup, an Analysis by Mountain and Mole Hill
Mountain: That Blog called “Nobody Promotes like a Nobody” was such a downer, I couldn’t handle it. There just wasn’t any room for something positive.
Mole Hill: I think you missed the point Mountain. It was a send up, a spoof, a storm in a tea cup.
Mountain: What do you mean spoof. I thought it was just some stupid artist wallowing in his own fears and self-pity. It was disgusting. He should get a life.
Mole Hill: Did you notice in the news this past week they were remembering Mohammed Ali, he was the boxer that would brag about himself, “I am the greatest” and that kind of thing. He made you smile because he was so outrageous and entertaining, not that you believed everything. Check out this utube to see more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGTtv3yFdco Well the “Nobody” blog took an opposite approach from Mohammed Ali and it was just as outrageous. The one shows the ridiculousness and the humor of the other. Maybe you should give it a second read at: https://data.fineartstudioonline.com/nl/?nid=81814
Mountain: Well it didn’t work, it was depressing.
Howdy Doody: I’d like to interject here. You know I think that the “Nobody Promotes like a Nobody” was a succinct discription of the angst experienced by many artistic people such as myself. You know, promoting yourself is a scary thing. You really have to put yourself out into the public eye and you don’t know what the reaction will be. The worst thing is when nobody says anything, there is just silence, and then of course you assume the worst. I was terrified when I first started out. Fortunately for me I have had mostly favorable responses in my acting career.
Mole Hill: Howdy Doody, my old friend, how ya doin? You made some good points there, you know in a backwards kind of way “Nobody” was declaring that he was “Somebody” even in the midst of all his fears. I think that’s pretty brave and profound, don’t you.
Mountian: Whatever. Why doesn’t he just come out and say what he wants to say:
Mole Hill: Ok, this is what he was trying to say:

Mountain: Too much effort.
Howdy Doody: See what I mean. You are going to push him over the edge with your apathy.
Mountain: Who cares.
Mole Hill: You are declaring for yourself the existential doom and gloom that you said you don’t like.
Mountain: Uh, well, ok, whatever, um, ok, I guess I’ll check it out.
